Random Vid: Tell me what’s the word?

Ah word up! Who knew that the song by Cameo would one day become a neat little grassroots drift event in San Francisco? Well I sure didn’t but man do I love to see media from these events. It is nice to see that even though drifting continues to grow around the world, there is still room for events that get people started. The people at Fatlace never cease to amaze me, no matter how busy they are every month they show up and word up. This video is from about a month ago but still worth the watch if you haven’t seen it.

Video: Word up indeed

In my constant struggle to prove that the people over at Fatlace aren’t hard parkers – I thought I would post up this video from their Word Up events. It would be nice to see some more events like this pop up in other city centers, but finding venues on this side of the border is easier said then done.  Anyway, the new illest boutique just opened in L.A as well, so I am going to kill two birds with one stone. Speedlace?

I came across this article a while ago.  It pertains to two things that I am a fan of, the first being Speedhunters and the second  being the good people over at Fatlace.  Mark Arcenal from Fatlace has recently starting organizing the “Word Up” events.  “Word up” is a sweet little grassroots event that provides a drift venue to drivers of almost every skill level.  Anyway, Speedhunters sent Linhbergh Nguyen to cover the event and in the true spirit of “Word up,”  he got behind the wheel to drift for the first time ever.

So above is Mark’s purpose built drift car and easily my favourite zenki S14 out there eight now.  I suggest checking out the rest of the story @ http://speedhunters.com/archive/2010/12/26/car-life-gt-gt-photographer-turned-donut-maker.aspx
