Event: Forget about it Friday – More Drifting

I have pretty much run out of things that are  even half relevant to say. I can’t regale you with anymore tales of whimsy or adventure. All I can do is show you some pictures of cars going sideways at Evergreen Speedway and ask rhetorical questions.

Event: Not really the Monday Morning Rundown

It would seem that since Dave spent a week up North sans technology, he has decided to do away with the internet. Or possibly some Regina residents have been having issues with their internet. Whichever the case, I will step in to fill the Monday morning void, however the only thing that ever happens in my realm of the automotive world is drifting. I just so happen to have some more photos from Formula Drift Round 5.

Event: Formula Drift – Round 5 2012

Sleep deprivation, Red Robin and Subway is how I would describe my weekend to most people. However, to the people who get me and what I am about I could break it down into one word – Awesome. That is just what it means to be at one of these events.

SEMA Show 2011: Formula D Press Conference

The Formula D press conference just wrapped up, and for now it seems like it’s steady as she goes.  Formula D has always been pretty conservative with expansion and this year is no different.  Venues and dates will be pretty close to last year.  Formula D will continue with there demos which we can expect to see on Driftstream.  In February they will return to Panama and in the spring to the Middle East again.   Also mentioned was the possibility of a demonstration somewhere in Asia.

Video: Formula D – Always Green?

Seattle marked my first media pass for a Formula D event. Armed only with the wrong equipment for the job, I did my best to capture some footage. I, of course, snapped some photos, but those posts have already been made.

Formula D: Seattle – Awesome Town from Ryan Benoit on Vimeo.

This video is long overdue. I originally started it a few weeks ago, but got side tracked making this video for Alex Lee. Now, that video is cut to “Howling for you” by the Black Keys, and I originally meant to cut this video to the aforementioned song. However, it suited Alex’s video so much better, and I just let it go. Instead, I settled for an old, old song hoping it would work.

Formula D: Much to do about Drift

For the first weekend in about a month, I wasn’t at a track or on the road going to a track. This gave me a chance to finally sit down and go through some of the media that I’ve collected.

Formula D: More Seattle Throw Down

Formula D is a spectacle, I believe it is something that every drift fan should attend at least once. The smell of tire smoke and the rumble of the engines is something that cannot be explained in a picture or a video, but that won’t stop me from trying.

Formula D: Ever Green – Main Event

So I am going to spare you the sentimental B.S. about how awesome it was to go to Formula D.  The truth is nobody really wants to hear about that. I assume people want to see pictures and video and lots of them, so I will do my best.  Hopefully the more we get into this we can add a new perspective and shine some lime light on Canadian drivers.  For now lets just look at some sliding cars and tire smoke.

Random Vid: The Power of Matt Powers

First and foremost, I think this guy has maybe just one of the coolest names. Aside from that he is proving himself to be a force to reckoned with. He managed to get a second place in Long Beach putting Team Need for Speed on the drift podium for the first time. More than anything I would like to see this guy develop more of a fan following, I think these two videos will explain.

Monday Morning Rundown:

It is Monday Morning again and that means it is time for you to learn about stuff you may not care about.  I say that because I received a nice email from someone telling me that they don’t care about drifting and I should focus more on LeMans and GT racing.  So to start things of this morning we will first talk about…….
