Way Back Throw Back: A Day of DMCC

Back in the day, back before Alex Lee got his Formula D debut, back before all the drama in the western league. We got to see some of the best drifting the west had to offer.

Another Year Down the Hatch

In true blog fashion, we thought it would be nice to do a year in review.  However, we underestimated just how much DODOlogic did this year.  That being said, until we can gather all the information, I thought I would do the selfish thing and look back over my year.   I decided to do this last night and what should have been a ‘best of’ post quickly became ‘my favorite photos.’  Finally this post turned into the ‘Hey! Here are some random photos from my year.’  So in no particular order, here is my 2011 in random photos.

HayDay| DMCC Round 2

A great race car driver once said, “If you ain’t first your last”. This time I’m last at posting the images I captured at DMCC Round 2 in Fort Saskatchewan. The event couldn’t have gone any better for me as far as weather goes and the driving was very impressive. But it was definitely a dramatic change in landscape when comparing to the event held in Penticton just weeks beforehand. I was having a hard time finding interesting angles and various locations to shoot that would make the footage interesting to watch and cut, then one of the photographers suggested I utilize the bails of hay that were littered all over the track. Wow how typically Albertan this setup was but it definitely made for one particular shot that I enjoyed. All in all this weekend was a huge success for the media and drivers! I hope you enjoy.

Video: DMCC West Round 2

Man, wouldn’t it be great if this was a video from Sunday’s event?  It isn’t, but it is from the DMCC event that took place in Edmonton a few weeks ago.  I would have liked to have finished it sooner but between this and  the Formula D: Seattle video, I’ve been pretty busy.  Enough with the chit-chat, here’s some of the sites and sounds from DMCC.

*Note: For some reason the video runs long but I promise it actually ends with Devin.

DMCC West: Drifting done Bob Ross Style

First let me apologize, the title is mis-leading. Bob Ross had probably never heard  of drifting. Second, if you don’t know who Bob Ross is, look it up.  However, I will be darned if the backdrop in some of these photos could not double as a landscape in one of his paintings. I have been to a few drift venues but never one that looked so little like a track.  You could say that everyone reveled in the Joys of Drifting that day. ( Again, see Bob Ross Reference)

WWW: One part of the Farm

Add one part Drift Farm and one part StatusOne and a whole lot of swagger and you get the owner of these wheels. To be honest, I don’t know much about swagger, or what it really means but here we go…

DMCC: Round 2 out West

Well, happy long weekend everyone. If you were somehow unaware yesterday was Round 2 of DMCC West. So as usual we packed up the car and hit the road.  This was my first time at Stratotech in Fort Saskatchewan and don’t let the name fool you it is no where near Saskatchewan.  None the less is it was an eventful day.

DMCC: In the Pits

We spend a lot of time talking about the drivers of DMCC,  but really leave the drivers themselves faceless.  I mean, we show you their cars and them in action but the people behind  the wheels of those cars remain a mystery cloaked in tire smoke.  So let’s take a look of the Bruce Wayne’s, and Clark Kent’s of DMCC West.
