Video: How Hot? – DF Films – DODOlogic
I’ve just gotten off the phone with Jordan, hes given me the directions to his place (Hotboyz headquarters) and we’ll be there in about an hour or so. We’re hungry and so is he, perfect.
I’ve worked with Jordan and the rest of the DODO crew for just over a year now. Its funny when you see someone on Facebook, you talk to them through chat and share content with them but you have never truly spoken a word to one another. Needless to say meeting Jordan and the rest of the Hotboyz crew made me feel like I was going on a blind date.
Driving up to the house I can feel some excitement forming between my friends and I. We’ve seen the photos of the beige beasts and who the heck wouldn’t be excited to see a miata with an SR20 in it? After exchanging some firm bro-style handshakes we follow Jordan and his girlfriend Kyla to a local eatery that is highly recommended, Memphis Blues. Poutine smothered in immense amounts of pork and gravy to pulled pork sandwiches that will make you consider ordering seconds. We were more then satisfied once we left. Back to the Hotboyz headquarters to meet the rest of the gang.
A beige Toyota Cresta rolls through the back alley and parks. A tall, skinny guy steps out, its Jack Connelly. You can’t miss Jack on the track, he’s slingin’ his saloon with his Stig style helmet at every DU event and has been coming out here for a long time. His friend Eric Zapata can’t be missed either with his 1JZ powered 240SX these three are sure not to disappoint any crowd.
Now enough with the chit-chat, watch this video to get a good look at Western Canada’s fresh grassroots drift crew. I promise they’ll get you all hot and bothered.

Random Vid: Slideways Friday Demo(lition)
The fine men at Drift Squad put together a video of last evening’s action at the track in Calgary. It sounds like several cars sustained damage all in the name of putting on a good show.
Random Snap: Stay Golden Ponyboy
So growing up there was only one book that I ever read start to finish. Perhaps, if I would have read more of the books they assigned in school my grammar would be better today. If that was the case it would probably be a lot easier to read a lot of what I write. Anyway, that book that I soared through was S.E. Hinton’s “The Outsiders.” Although, I barely remember what happened in the book, I do remember the quote, “Stay golden Ponyboy.”

Drift Cars: On Top of the World
Usually I would start event coverage with a post like this, but last week’s post was so full of drifting that I couldn’t wait to get drift pics up.

Let’s go back to a simpler time — a time before the Drift Union Inviataional occured. Picture it, Penticton Speedway, 2:30 PM, Saturday, June 11th. Atop a mighty mountain, the surrounding area is littered with old race cars that have outlived their usefulness. As time passes, the parking lot fills with new cars, ready to risk the same fate as those that came before them — all for a little taste of the glory.

Event: Drift Union Three Car Tandem – Invitational
For those of you who haven’t been to Penticton B.C., let me start by saying it is amazing as is most B.C. scenery. What is usually considered to be wine country has developed a new identity to drifters all across Western Canada. The Penticton Speedway recently played host to the Drift Union Team Tandem Invitational. The notorious purple car triplet that makes up Drift Union invited all those willing to make the trek to join them a top of their little slice of heaven. The Penticton Speedway is like nothing I have seen before, it is actually situated on top of a mountain and shares all the same scenery that makes the Okanagan so beautiful.
WWW: A Squadron of Wheels
I have been traveling so much lately that I almost forgot what today is. Luckly for me, I now have pictures of wheels from all across Western Canada. Today’s wheels come all the way from Calgary and belong to Drift Squad. Now we have been internet friends with this drift team for a decent amount of time. However, after this past weekend I can officially file them under rad in my rolodex. The two subjucts in question are non-other then JDM-Jack Connelly and all around nice guy Eric Zapata.
