At Winnipeg’s Springs Church on Sunday, Chris Gonzales, Kyle Zimmer and Collin Melody were on a mission from God. Well not actually, I just like to reference the Blues Brothers whenever possible. In actuality, these guys were busy drifting the parking lot for hundreds of onlookers.

Gonzo (Chris Gonzalez) is no stranger to DODOlogic and DODOlogic is no stranger to Gonzo. You’ve probably gathered that if you’ve followed us for any length of time. Gonzo has successfully created a bromance with our entire publication and we’re so happy to see him live his dream. Last weekend we drove a few hours to help support his drifting habit.

Here are just a few pictures from July 8th’s Slideways Fridays Event at Race City. For those of you who don’t know, Slideways Fridays is a drift demo put on by the guys from StatusOne, Drift Squad, and Drift Farm. It features drivers from the Pro And Pro-AM DMCC class as well as invited guests. The demo is held every second Friday at Race City in Calgary. The fine men at Drift Squad put together a video of last evening’s action at the track in Calgary.  It sounds like several cars sustained damage all in the name of putting on a good show.

So as the year is coming to an end I find myself thinking of what I did throughout the year.  Making trips to both Saskatoon and Calgary for drift events were definitely the highlights of my summer, but a lot of little meets and photo shoots can’t be forgotten.  This past summer was by far the busiest I have ever been in the automotive world.  Now that I have gotten the taste of what there actually is for a car community in the Regina area, I am going to make sure I attend as many events and provide as much coverage for the readers as my wallet can handle.

I might as well start off part 1 of the 2 part article with photos from this past summer.

I managed to grab some footage from DMCC Round 4.  However, I did not bring the camera out on Sunday for fear of water damage. Anyway, since Jordan did such a good job of showing up for Pro Am, I let him pick the song. Dub Step is all the rage, so let’s try to cash in.

In all seriousness thanks to everyone for making DMCC Round 4 possible.  And a huge thanks to all the drivers for giving me something to film.
