SEMA: Hotchkis knows what’s up

I’ll be honest, before SEMA, Hotchkis Sport Suspension wasn’t a company I was very familiar with.  After a quick look at their website you get the impression their bread and butter is modern suspension systems for classic domestic muscle cars.  I’ve always loved the idea of an old school hunk of Detroit steel with the handling of a modern car.

Video: SEMA 2012 summed up

SEMA show 2012 // DF Films x DODOlogic // from DF Films on Vimeo.

I’ve tried to compress my three day excursion to North America’s largest car exhibition into a three minute video. My trip was comprised of three full days walking around the Las Vegas convention centre, enjoying the notorious sounds from rally cars, eating great American burgers and anticipating a massive bloody nose from the dry desert air. This video is the product of what I thought was worthy enough to show you, the audience. I don’t think any amount of words, photos or videos can truly illustrate to you of how big the SEMA show really is. I hope however that this video gives you an idea at what level of automotive finesse this exhibition has to offer. One element that I took from this experience is that I will probably never be able to appreciate any car show ever again, unless of course it is the infamous Tokyo Auto Salon. I hope you all enjoy my version of the SEMA trip summed up in three minutes.

Shop Profile: 425 Motorsports

Two weeks ago, I was invited to drive down to Bellevue, Washington. This was so I could attend the Evergreen Drift awards party.  The party was being held by the organizers at Evergreen Speedway and Formula D, it was hosted by 425 Motorsports.

Prosport Gauges

We are a few months away from when people start to take their rides out of hiding or put on the finishing touches.  A part that a lot of people desire are new gauges to make sure everything is running properly.  One company that should be considered is Prosport, they offer Defi style gauges, inexpensive price tags, and accurate readings.

Store Spotlight: RHD Japan

When we were in Vegas for the SEMA show, one shop I wasn’t expecting to see was RHD Japan. In fact, I almost walked right by it. It was only when Ryan poked me, motioned towards the booth and said, “Hey, check it out!” that I saw this little gem of SEMA.

CIAS: Coming to America or something like that.

It has come to my attention that Fiat has reached our portion of the prairies, so what better time to post up some pics.  Fiat has been putting their name out there in a big way hoping to to make a big impact, at least at the shows I have been at.

SEMA SHOW 2010: ALL THE SMALL THINGS

When I go to the SEMA Show,  I’m not swooning over the crazy amount of exotics or the tuner cars I will never see in my home town, it’s all the small things I find scattered around the show floor that really do it for me.

Video: Ain’t No Young Thundercats…

I came across a couple of video’s and was absolutely amazed! AMS Performance is practically a household name in the tuner industry and makes some of the best products made available for the import car scene! I came across two of their cars that stood out to me.

I remember seeing some shots of their R35 GTR build on Speedhunters but never saw the end result. Some of the technology used to create everything by hand blew me away! This video shows you exactly what’s been put into this car and has a couple of UNREALISTIC runs!

OH, its 1000+ hp. :)

Boss Blog for Boss Imports

Our friend Spencer at Boss Imports has started a blog to promote his business.  As you can see from the Nissan President I grabbed from his site, he can get some pretty ‘boss’ gear.  If you have any questions about importing cars, parts or just buying from what he has listed check out his site.

A Winter equals Summer

It is a slow time of year for us here Saskatchewan, really makes me envy all those who live in sunny locations.  This brings to mind that Fatlace is having a winter sale, which is still really summer clothing to us.  So why not save some money and get some summer clothing for this up coming season while supporting those who support the meca of the car scene.

Here is a photo from there page to drive the point home.  Really makes you wonder with no snow or minus 30 temperatures what’s to worry about?
